Thanks for the heads-up about the Consortium (familiarly known as "CalConnect". One thing -- we don't anticipate "taking over" work from the IETF precisely; we want to help drive the IETF standards work forward by doing related work such as use case and requirements, white papers, inteoperability testing -- and publicity and promotion. Think us us as doing the things the IETF doesn't do because it's not in their charter.
